Frequently asked questions
You probably have questions about Shopify as a platform, or about how we work at Codemaker-S. Not finding yours? Give us a call, or leave your details and we'll come back to you.
Migrating a Lightspeed store usually costs € 8,000 to € 20,000. With B2B functionality, a POS integration or a large catalogue it can run up to € 60,000. Because Lightspeed stores tend to be relatively contained, most of the time goes into design and integrations rather than the data itself.
Usually because you are hitting a ceiling: custom functionality that is not possible, an app ecosystem that is considerably smaller, or international selling that gets awkward. Shopify's app ecosystem and API give you room that Lightspeed does not.
Not if it is done properly. We map every old URL to its new location with a 301 redirect, including category and content pages, and move titles, meta descriptions and structured data across.
Usually yes. Shopify has its own POS and integrations with most till systems. In the audit we check what you use today and what the equivalent is, including whether stock stays synchronised across both channels.
Six to twelve weeks, depending on catalogue size, integrations and whether a new design is part of it. Your Lightspeed store keeps running throughout; we only switch at launch.
Yes. Many Lightspeed stores still carry SEOshop URLs, and those get redirects as well. The older the store, the more valuable that history is, so we map it rather than pointing everything at the homepage.

Lightspeed vs Shopify in short
Lightspeed is solid for a straightforward store, especially with a physical shop attached. Shopify wins on custom functionality, the size of its app ecosystem and international selling. If none of those are limiting you today, a migration is not urgent, and we will say so.
What moves in the migration
Products with variants and images, categories as collections, customer accounts, order history, discount codes, content pages and blogs, including your SEOshop-era URLs. We agree per data type what moves before we start.
Cost and timeline
Expect € 8,000 to € 20,000, up to € 60,000 for complex projects. After the audit you get a fixed quote and a plan, usually six to twelve weeks. Want to know where you stand first? Get a free store analysis.
