Web shop development
Having a web shop built starts with the question of what it runs on. We build custom stores from € 3,000, out of Eindhoven, and we will tell you honestly when your current platform still does the job.

Having a web shop built is not a technical assignment but a decision about how you will sell for the years ahead. So we do not start with colours and buttons, but with what the store has to carry: how many products, which customers, which integrations with your stock or bookkeeping, and what will be different three years from now.
Codemaker-S has been building custom stores for brands in the Netherlands and Belgium since 2019. Building on a single platform is a choice, not a limitation: you get a team that knows Shopify to its edges instead of five platforms halfway. If it does not fit your situation, you will hear that from us before you sign anything.
Why Codemaker-S?
Platform choice first
We start with the question of what your store should run on, not with a quote. If your current platform still does the job, that is our advice, even though we earn nothing from it.
One fixed price up front
After the intake you get a single quote with a fixed amount and a schedule with milestones. No time-and-materials billing, no argument about extra work at the end.
Fast and findable at launch
Every store goes live green on the Core Web Vitals, with structured data, redirects and measurement from day one. Speed and findability are revenue, not an afterthought.
“A great, reliable party with honest advice on a possible solution.”
Clients rate Codemaker-S 5.0 out of 5, based on public reviews on Google and Sortlist.
How we work
Intake & platform choice
Intake / Platform advice / Quote
We map your goals, catalogue and integrations and decide together what the store is best built on. One fixed quote with a schedule follows.
Wireframes & strategy
UX design / Strategy / Content planning
We translate those insights into wireframes, a navigation structure and a content plan, so the design rests on a proven customer journey.
Design & development
Visual design / Custom work / Mobile first
Designers and developers sit in one team here: what you see in the design is what gets built, mobile first and fully bespoke.
Content & integrations
Products / Integrations / Payments
We set up products, content, payment methods and shipping rules, and connect your store to your bookkeeping, ERP or point of sale.
Testing & launch
QA / Redirects / Go live
We test the full ordering flow on mobile and desktop and guide a controlled launch, including redirects, measurement and a final speed check.
Aftercare & growth
Support / CRO / Growth
After launch we stay involved with support, conversion optimisation and new functionality that grows along with your store.
Frequently asked questions
You probably have questions about Shopify as a platform, or about how we work at Codemaker-S. Not finding yours? Give us a call, or leave your details and we'll come back to you.
A custom web shop costs € 3,000 to € 15,000 with us, excluding VAT and the platform subscription itself. What mostly drives the price: the number of integrations, unusual features such as a product configurator, and the amount of product information that has to be processed. After the intake you get a fixed quote.
That depends on your catalogue, your customers and your growth plans. For most stores Shopify is the safest choice: hosting, security and updates are included in the subscription, and the custom work sits in the theme and the integrations. Our platform guides, such as the one on WooCommerce, weigh that honestly.
Because focus produces quality: a team that half knows five platforms knows none of them well. We are an official Shopify Partner and work in it daily, from custom themes to API integrations and our own apps. We do not hide that this makes us partial. Our guides on WooCommerce and Shopware also say where those platforms win.
If you sell a handful of products and your brand is still taking shape, starting yourself is a fine choice: you learn exactly what you will need later. As soon as your revenue depends on the store, you need integrations or you have to stand out, building it yourself gets more expensive than outsourcing. You pay in your own hours and in missed sales.
Products with photos, copy and prices, plus your brand material if you already have it. If that is missing, we arrange photography and copy within the project and it appears as a separate line in the quote. The rest, such as payment methods, shipping rates, returns policy and legal pages, we walk through together with a checklist.
Yes, and the order matters more than it does for an existing store: brand and range first, shop second. Without a sharp story you build a fine window around an unclear offer. In that case we start with branding and strategy and then move on to the store itself.
Yes. We then deliver a complete, selling store with everything you need to trade, and plan the rest as separate blocks: an integration, a configurator, a second language. That is often wiser than deciding everything up front, because after three months of selling you know far better what you actually miss.
You do. The account is in your name, the theme and the custom code are yours after delivery, and you are not tied to us. We consider that obvious, but it is worth asking every party you talk to: a store you cannot take with you is a store you do not own.
More than you need. Shopify runs stores with hundreds of thousands of variants and absorbs Black Friday peaks without you doing anything. In practice the limit is not the platform but your own process: stock, fulfilment and customer service seize up long before the technology does.
Yes, which is why we ask about your growth plans up front. Multiple languages, currencies and markets are managed from one environment, and a business layer with its own prices and payment on account is built on top with B2B functionality. If we know in advance, expanding later costs a fraction of a rebuild.
Usually both at once: a migration brings your products, customers and orders along and keeps your URL structure intact, while the design and the technology are new. Our migration page explains how that works from the seven platforms we see most often.
With a complete redirect map the value you built up is preserved: every old URL points at its new address. Do count on a dip of a few weeks while Google processes the new structure. We keep it as small as possible with a fixed order of checks before, during and after the launch.
A fixed price. After the intake and a short scoping round you get one quote with a fixed amount and a schedule with milestones. If you want to add something that was not in it, we quote that separately and you decide, so the final invoice is never a surprise.
For a well-defined job a good freelancer is fine. A complete web shop asks for design, development, integrations and aftercare, and those are rarely the same pair of hands. Here those disciplines sit in one team, and if someone drops out your project does not stall. Honestly: if you want a small theme with a few tweaks, a freelancer is cheaper.

Which platform should your web shop be built on?
Anyone having a web shop built is really choosing two things at once: a builder and a platform. We build on Shopify, but we do not think you should take that choice on our word. So we publish an honest guide per platform, including the points where that platform beats Shopify.
- Already on something? Read the guide on your platform: WooCommerce, Lightspeed, Magento, Mijnwebwinkel, CCV Shop, Shopware or PrestaShop. Each one ends with when moving is worth it and when it is not.
- Already decided? Then read on at our page about having a Shopify store built.
What does having a web shop built cost?
Our custom stores sit between € 3,000 and € 15,000, excluding VAT. Where you land in that band depends mostly on four things:
- The design. Fitting an existing theme to your brand sits at the bottom of the band. A design from scratch, with a design system that grows along, at the top.
- The integrations. A bookkeeping connector from the app store is an afternoon's work. An ERP integration with Exact or AFAS is a project in itself.
- The products. Fifty products with clean data are processed quickly. Five thousand variants with missing specifications are not.
- Unusual features. A product configurator, subscriptions, customer-specific pricing or a quotation flow are custom work and count separately.
On top of that you pay for the platform itself: count on € 21 to € 384 per month, depending on your plan and billing term.
Build it yourself, fit a theme or go custom?
There are three ways to get a web shop, and none of the three is wrong. They simply suit a different moment.
- Build it yourself. Cheap in euros, expensive in hours. Fine to start with and to find out what you really need.
- Have a theme fitted. Live quickly with a tidy result, but you look like the hundreds of other stores running that same theme.
- Custom. Designed around your brand and customer journey. More expensive up front, and the only route if you want to stand out or need features no theme delivers.
We do the second and the third. If you are still in the first phase we will say so; an hour of thinking along is then worth more than a quote.
Who is Codemaker-S the right builder for?
We work for brands that are just starting and want to start well, for stores running into the limits of their current platform, and for B2B companies digitising their sales. What our clients have in common: they see their store as an engine for growth, not a business card.
Fair is fair: if you are looking for the cheapest party to install a theme once, that is not us. Our value sits in custom work, in thinking along about brand and positioning, and in a partner who stays involved after launch.
