Theme Development
A Shopify theme built around your brand, not around a template's assumptions.

A theme is where your brand becomes a shop. Off-the-shelf themes are a fast way to start, but they carry someone else's decisions about layout, navigation and checkout, and those decisions quietly shape how much you sell.
We design and build custom themes: fast, accessible, and built so your team can keep working in them without a developer standing by.
Why Codemaker-S?
Designed and built in one team
Our designers and developers sit at the same table, so what you approve in Figma is what goes live. No handover losses, no "that cannot be built".
Green Core Web Vitals
Speed is a design decision, not something you optimise afterwards. We build themes that load fast on a mid-range phone, because that is what your customers are using.
Certified Shopify specialists
Everything we do runs on Shopify. We know the platform inside out, from themes to API integrations, and we are an official Shopify Partner.
“We hugely appreciate how hard Codemaker-S worked. They were still going on the Sunday before our launch to get the last details right. After going live they even came round to celebrate, with VA Imaging cake and champagne.”
How we work
Design & structure
UX design / Brand / Components
We design the page types and the component library around your brand, starting from how your customers actually shop.
Theme development
Liquid / Performance / Accessibility
We build the theme in Liquid with editable sections, so your team can compose new pages without touching code.
Testing & handover
Devices / Core Web Vitals / Documentation
We test across devices, verify performance and accessibility, and hand over with documentation your team can actually use.

Frequently asked questions
You probably have questions about Shopify as a platform, or about how we work at Codemaker-S. Not finding yours? Give us a call, or leave your details and we'll come back to you.
A custom theme is part of your store project; we rarely sell it separately. A complete custom Shopify store costs between € 3,000 and € 15,000, and the theme is the largest item within that. What determines the price: the number of unique page types and how much custom functionality goes in.
A standard theme is a fine starting point, and we will say so when it is enough. It becomes limiting when your product needs a way of presenting itself the theme did not anticipate, or when performance suffers from features you never use.
Yes. We build the theme with editable sections in the Shopify theme editor, so your team can compose new landing pages from existing components. Anything structural stays with us, which is deliberate: it keeps the store consistent.
Often, yes, and it is frequently the better call. If the foundation is sound we improve performance, accessibility and the conversion path without a rebuild. We audit first and tell you honestly which route makes sense.
By deciding what not to load. Most slow Shopify stores are slow because of stacked apps and unused scripts, not because of images. We build lean, defer what can wait, and check against Core Web Vitals on real devices.
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA as a baseline: keyboard navigation, contrast, focus states and proper semantics. Since the European Accessibility Act came into force this stopped being optional for most stores.
Shopify's platform updates apply regardless of your theme. What does not happen automatically is inheriting new features from a theme vendor. That is the trade-off for a theme that fits. In practice we add what you actually need.
Usually six to twelve weeks as part of a full store project, depending on the number of unique page types and how much custom functionality is involved. Design and development overlap, so it is shorter than the two phases added together.

No credit card. No sales pitch. We look the way a customer does: we fill nothing in and order nothing.

A real browser loads your site the way a visitor does. Everything you see next is measured on your site, not estimated.
What a custom theme actually buys you
Control over the parts that decide whether someone orders: how products are presented, how filtering works, how many steps stand between interest and checkout. Those are the places where template assumptions cost you money, and they are exactly what custom work fixes.
Built for your team
A theme nobody can edit becomes a bottleneck. We build with editable sections so your marketers can launch a campaign page without a ticket to us. The structure stays ours; the content is yours.
Performance is not an afterthought
We build lean from the start rather than optimising afterwards, because most performance problems are architectural. For VINQ that meant filters that work without a page reload; for our own site it means everything you are reading now is static HTML.
