From PrestaShop to Shopify
Module counter out of hand, or dreading the upgrade to PrestaShop 9? We migrate your store to Shopify, with products, customers and multilingual content fully along.

PrestaShop is free, but the store around it is not: every feature is a module with its own price tag and its own supplier, and every major version step is a project in which that stack has to pass the test again. Anyone still on 1.6 or 1.7 is facing an upgrade that is effectively a rebuild. We make sure you do that one move properly: to a platform where features come built in, with your data, your multilingual content and your rankings fully along.
Why Codemaker-S?
Directly from 1.6 and 1.7 as well
You do not have to climb the upgrade mountain to PrestaShop 9 first. We extract products, customers and orders from older versions just as well, so you make the investment once, towards the platform you can move forward with for years.
Recognised Shopify specialists
Everything we do revolves around Shopify. We know the platform inside and out, from themes to API integrations. That is what earned us our status as an official Shopify Partner.
SEO retention first
We map your PrestaShop URLs completely, per language version, set up 301 redirects and guard your rankings around launch. Your organic traffic simply moves with you.
“Marco and the team helped me well. Quick to respond, and my new store was delivered SEO-proof! Thanks again.”
Clients rate Codemaker-S 5.0 out of 5, based on public reviews on Google and Sortlist.
How we work
PrestaShop audit
Modules / Data / SEO
We take stock of your modules, theme customisations, languages and URL structure, and determine the Shopify equivalent for each part: standard, app or custom. You get a concrete migration plan with a fixed price.
Build & migration
Theme / Data migration / Languages
We build your new store in Shopify and migrate products with combinations, customers and order history, including your language versions through Shopify Markets. Module features are replaced by built-in features, apps or custom work.
Redirects & launch
301 redirects / Testing / Aftercare
Every old URL gets a 301 redirect, per language version, we test the full checkout flow and switch over at a quiet moment. Afterwards we monitor rankings and conversion.
Frequently asked questions
You probably have questions about Shopify as a platform, or about how we work at Codemaker-S. Not finding yours? Give us a call, or leave your details and we'll come back to you.
Yes. We extract products with combinations, customers, orders and content pages from PrestaShop through the database or an export, from versions 8 and 9 just as well as from 1.6 and 1.7. We clean the data where needed and place everything in Shopify in a structured way; combinations simply become variants.
We list every module: what Shopify covers out of the box, what becomes an app and where custom work is needed. Usually considerably less remains than you expect, because many modules do things Shopify simply ships with. And the annual renewals for updates and support? Those lapse; that is exactly the point.
Yes, and with PrestaShop stores that is often the most valuable luggage. We bring your translations along per language and set them up in Shopify with markets and language versions, including the corresponding URLs and redirects per language. Nothing has to be rewritten.
Yes, your current PrestaShop store simply keeps running throughout the build; you do not miss a day of revenue. The actual switch is planned at a quiet moment and takes a few minutes at most. Just before launch we fetch the latest orders and customers one more time.
No. For older stores the upgrade to 9 is effectively a rebuild, with modules and themes that have to pass the test again, and you can skip that investment. We migrate directly from the version you are on now. If you are facing that rebuild anyway, this is exactly the moment to put both routes side by side.
Not if it is done properly. Every old URL gets a 301 redirect to the right new page, category and content pages included and per language version, and we guard your rankings around launch. That redirect plan is a fixed part of every migration we do, not an option.
Expect six to twelve weeks, depending on your catalogue, the number of languages and the number of module features that need a new home. A well-organised store sits at the bottom of that band. After the audit you get a fixed timeline and a fixed price.
Because free is mostly the starting price here: hosting, modules, annual renewals and maintenance end up, for a serious store, in the same range as a subscription, spread across invoices from ten parties. With Shopify you pay one amount that covers hosting, security and updates, and the upkeep that now costs your time or your developer lapses. We make that calculation honestly in the audit, and sometimes it comes out in favour of staying.

PrestaShop 9 or Shopify?
PrestaShop 9 is a genuine modernisation, but for stores on 1.6 or 1.7 the road there is a rebuild: modules and themes have to be re-bought or replaced. If you are facing that investment anyway, put both routes side by side instead of staying inside PrestaShop by default. The complete picture of the platform, with the real costs of the module economy, is in our guide PrestaShop: what it costs and when you outgrow it.
What moves in the migration
Products with combinations and images, categories as collections, customer accounts, order history and content pages, including your multilingual content per language version. Module features get their Shopify equivalent up front. We agree per data type what moves and in which form; after the migration we go through it together.
Cost and timeline
After the audit you receive a fixed quote and a timeline, usually six to twelve weeks. In return the module renewals and the upkeep lapse; we make that calculation explicit in the audit.
