Migration

A store with serious revenue is not something you move with an import tool. We migrate complex shops to Shopify: with your custom work, your integrations and your rankings fully along, without missing a day of revenue.

To us a migration is not an export-import job but a renovation with the shop open. The stores we move have been running for years: with a grown catalogue, links to bookkeeping or ERP, and custom work the business leans on. For VA Imaging we brought two systems together into one Shopify Plus environment with customer-specific pricing; for Shaped4 we merged B2B and B2C into one store with fourteen languages.

Projects like that ask for a playbook rather than good intentions: recording per data type what moves, mapping the custom work before anything gets built, and giving every old URL a 301 redirect so your positions survive the move.

Why Codemaker-S?

Specialists in complex migrations

Large catalogues, ERP integrations, customer-specific pricing and custom work that has to move: that is our daily work, not the exception. The audit shows what is involved before you sign anything.

No sudden surprises

Clear communication, a transparent schedule and fixed points of contact. After the audit you get one fixed price and a schedule with milestones, no time-and-materials billing.

Proven SEO playbook

Every old URL gets a 301 redirect and we guard your rankings around the launch. In our own migration, 45 of 51 URLs were recrawled and back in the index within a day.

“Marco and the team helped me well. Quick to respond, and my new store was delivered SEO-proof! Thanks again.”

How we work

01

Audit

Data / Integrations / SEO

We analyse your current store: what data, extensions and integrations exist, and what the Shopify equivalent is. You get a concrete migration plan with a fixed price.

02

Build & migrate

Theme / Data / Apps

We build your store in Shopify and migrate products, customers and orders, replacing platform-specific extensions with Shopify apps or custom work.

03

Redirects & launch

301 redirects / Testing / Aftercare

Every old URL gets a 301 redirect, we test the complete ordering flow and go live at a quiet moment. Then we monitor rankings and conversion.

Frequently asked questions

You probably have questions about Shopify as a platform, or about how we work at Codemaker-S. Not finding yours? Give us a call, or leave your details and we'll come back to you.

Migrating a straightforward store costs between € 8,000 and € 20,000. Complex projects with B2B functionality, an ERP integration or a very large catalogue run up to € 60,000. A migration costs more than a new build because existing data, rankings and revenue must not break. The price is fixed after the audit.

Not if it is done properly. Platforms use different URL structures, so we map every old URL to its new location with a 301 redirect, including category and filter pages. Titles, meta descriptions and structured data move across, so your positions hold.

Expect six to twelve weeks, depending on catalogue size, the number of integrations and whether a new design is part of it. Your current store keeps running throughout; we only switch over at launch.

Yes. We build the new store in parallel on a separate environment, so your current shop keeps selling. The switch happens in one moment, at a time we pick together, usually outside your peak hours.

All three, plus content pages, blogs and discount codes. Before we start we agree per data type what moves and in what form; afterwards we verify it together, data type by data type. Order history matters more than people expect for customer service.

Practically any: Magento, WooCommerce, Lightspeed, CCV Shop, Mijnwebwinkel, Shopware (version 5 included), PrestaShop, Zilver CMS and custom-built systems. For VA Imaging we merged two separate platforms into one Shopify Plus store.

Moving your store from one platform to another with everything that hangs off it: catalogue, customers, order history, content, integrations and search rankings. The technical move is the easy half; preserving rankings and data integrity is the work.

By three things: they start with an audit rather than a quote, they record per data type what moves and in what form, and they can show how earlier migrations turned out, down to the rankings after launch. Always ask for the redirect plan; anyone vague about it will cost you your positions.

Phased and repeatable. We build the migration as a script we run several times: first as a trial, then as a check, and once more just before launch for the latest orders and customers. That way the switch is not a nervous weekend but a controlled process, and your current store keeps selling throughout.

What we do

A real browser loads your site the way a visitor does. Everything you see next is measured on your site, not estimated.

What moves in a migration

Products with variants and images, categories as collections, customer accounts, order history, discount codes, content pages and blogs. We agree per data type what moves and in what form before we start, and verify it together afterwards.

Why rankings usually survive, and sometimes do not

They survive when every old URL has a mapped destination and the content on the other side matches the intent. They break when redirects are done in bulk to the homepage, or when a redesign silently drops half the content. The redirect plan is not paperwork; it is the migration.

Cost and timeline

Every store is different, so we do not work with package prices. A straightforward migration runs € 8,000 to € 20,000, complex projects up to € 60,000. After the audit you get a fixed quote and a plan, usually six to twelve weeks. Want to know where you stand first? Get a free store analysis.
